Picture this... it's Memorial Day in NYC, one of the few holidays of the year where almost everyone has the day off and have their outfits ready, hair and nails done, cars washed and shape-ups on point. Why? For Shine of course!!!

It's been a long weekend for us and this event was our third and final stop. Thus far, De River nightclub is the best venue for an event such as this. Back 2 Basics promised an All Inclusive level and surprise guests for his fourth installment of the most talked about fete to kick off the summer.

TJJ NY arrived in prime time but oh my goodness, parking was a pain! Everyone with a pulse was apparently already on the inside! It took 20 minutes, then bam ... bout 8 blocks away we got lucky!!! TJJ NY friends and fam arrived rhel early though! *lol* They were already the best of friends with JWB by the time we linked with them! Mind you the fete started at 10AM and was to go until 6PM. They arrived at 10AM!!! Hey some folks are serious about fettin' ... down to a science even! Anyway, soon we were on the inside. Tons of people were milling around... lawdee.. hug hug.. kiss kiss.. "Ey, how yuh goin?" You know what I mean. The lobby was the socializing level. Hee hee! BTW ... Loved the Shine ice sculpture (photo)! Awesome!!!

We made a b-line to the rooftop level, the official All Inclusive/Exclusive deck with a price tag of $70. Whey boy, well cyar really complain... allyuh ain't see de price of gas???!!! It was such a pleasure to start from the top and work our way down because we got to enjoy the beautiful Spring sun and breeze while we worked. Drinks were flowing. Ice sculpture shots (a TJJ fav), JWB, GG, Henny ... Martinis, Margaritas ... you name it! Guiness even! Food galllorrreee too!!! I was only seeing empty plates piled high on the tables.

The music was fyah thanks to DJ Spice, Elegance Sounds, Anonymous, Natural Freaks and Sounds 4 Life to name ah few. Oh and wait... even Toronto's Finest, D'Bandit an all bless de dance .. and he bless it well good too!! *lol*

The ladies all looked fabulous, each with a colorful cocktail adorning their hands. Fabulous sunglasses were a definite must. Functional and ... again ... it was just fabulous! We almost got whiplash checking out some of the fellas. One guy told me that he specifically bought what he was wearing so he could be fabulous also. Everyone was on their best behavior in their Sunday best on a Monday; just mellow and fabulous ... almost a bit too social actually, but hey!

Righto! Moving to the next level down was a bit challenging cuz why oh why were some inconsiderate folk trying to storm the VIP? I mean come on people! Early birds get VIP tix... you snooze you no get! So move along and buy your drinks! But A A... allyuh know me, I am about 5 lbs wet! So yuh done know ... pressha in the crowd! I will not even go into how I almost got meh liverstring squeezed outta meh nosehole trying to go back up! I did finally get through and took a lil' two three chip ... the DJ was jamming niiiiicccceee chunes! Everyone was having a time! "Don't doubt me ... I'M TELLING YOU!!" (Sprangalang ... y'all remember?) Arite arite, enough chupid talk. After some serious chipping around the second floor, I headed to the bowels of the club. Well it was jamishness to even reach there!!! Well I have no clue what all the fuss was about trying to storm VIP because ALL the action was downstairs. Besides being the ultimate sweat box, you literally were stepping over ice buckets galore. It was like folks were on a mission to get bent! Not to mention JAM JAM JAM!! Waist pelting all over the place!

D'Bandit and Natural Freaks were doing it rhel disgusting!!!!! I'm talking about hold yuh head and salute with yuh drink in de air!!! Nex ting I know ... Back to Basics (B2B) himself was on the stage with the ultimate hype up then introduced 3 Canal to mash up de dance!!! Good Mornin' neighbour!!! Shiiiinnneee!!!! I ain't lying... whey boy ... 3 Canal sounded wicked! Big ups to Pras of the Fugees and AJ who were on the inside.

TJJ was making a quick exit after the performances to avoid traffic. Trust that it did not make a difference because we still got stuck. Hey, allyuh miss out BUT there's always next year! B2B... Mmmwwwaahh! We love yuh bad! Thanks for the love! Ok, ok one more thing... yuh know dese dyam people break dong de people banister trying to get into VIP!!!!!! NAH!!! NO EH!!! Allyuh ain't shame??? Righto ah gone...
