Let me first say I was lured into staying an extra week (like anyone really needs convincing to stay a yard) to attend this event. And bway it did NOT disappoint. The weeks preparing for it are also to blame for my pants dem not fitting me anymore. Daily tastings of lamb, chicken, pork and fish had me gaining a likkle more dan 10lbs ... and did I ever walk wid my stomach to de event. Twas a likkle obvious that I was there to support de "head cook and bokkle washers", and they became some what of a crowd favourite, possibly because they entered for their own personal entertainment and not actually to win! So there was real comedy over by dat tent. (Possibly helped by being the tent right next to the bar)

The day was long, setup started roun' 7am CST meaning all de cooks never showed up until 9am Jamaica Time. smile Caribbean Pork did hook up de breakfast well nice while the smells of grills started to up fill up the air. Later on the place started to fill in, although you did know the way the sun did hot, most people not showing up till it cool down likkle. The weather was surprising though, after a week of constant rain it actually never rain de whole time, event promoter Craig aka Greasy mussi do him "no rain" dance to work out that miracle.

Lemme tell you though, music did well nice for the day, but it wasn't no big fete, so you could still hear yourself talk ... there was a nice side area for all the children to play, and all the grownups that haven't been out in a long long long time could get a likkle breeze out for themselves.

Not sure anyone was really paying attention to the judging times outsida to know what time a new dish would be ready to nyam up. You could tell the favourites just by what did finish fuss and who still have left overs... that never too too did coincide with the judges choices ... but a not alllll the time the professionals agree wid de common man!

By the end of the night everyone full and a likkle bit tipsy on the "jack and cola" (Jack Daniels sponsored event, you weren't allowed to call any other drink by brand name! LOL) and the awards were given out. Big ups to JoJos ... dem did win de overall prize, and knowing full well how dat place can ram me know seh dat dem did deserve it.

Overall a great day! (Food, Drink and Friends ... can't beat it). Looking forward to #4!
