So you might be asking, "What there is to say 'bout San Francisco Carnival?" Seeing as California isn't a Caribbean state, there's a lot to say about SF Carnival. This one takes the cake culturally, and has been doing that (much to our surprise) for 32 years. The carnival was originally established by a group of local musicians and artists who were eager to get the Caribbean and Latin American culture and vibe to San Francisco. Since the beginning this event has been sponsored by San Francisco Cultural Arts Traditions (SFCAT), a new non-profit organization dedicated to uniting people in the celebration of cultural arts traditions to benefit the community.

Its integrated internationally from Panama to Bolivia, Trinidad to Jamaica, people celebrate their culture from all over and share their pride in their native attire. About 70 bands participated in the actual road march, and an estimated 400,000 were ... >> READ MORE
